Barbie Campbell Cole trained as an architect, then worked for many years for BBC2 and C4 making anthropological documentaries in Asia and Africa. Since then she has dealt in antique textiles and jewellery from Asia and Africa, and has sold to collections in the British Museum, the Horniman Museum, the British Library and to private collections around the world.

Her academic research into the heirloom beads of Southeast Asia and Northeast India has been funded by The Bead Study Trust (Guido Award, 2001 and 2005), the Bead Society of Los Angeles (2004),and Icomos (Intach UK Trust Grant, 2010). Her research has been published by the Bead Study Trust and the Society of Bead Research.

Barbie Campbell Cole also sells silver findings and beads sourced during her travels, much of her stock being based on the traditional designs observed during her research and travels in Asia and Africa.

We trade on-line and at bead fairs around the country - see our 'See Us at a Fair Near You' page on this website. We don't have a shop at the above address.

Barbie Campbell Cole is a member of the Bead Study Trust, the Bead Society of Great Britain and the Beadworkers' Guild. She has been in business for 15 years, supplying silver findings and beads to silversmiths, jewellery makers, costume and film designers.

Most of our stock is made for us, so you won’t find most of the goods on this site elsewhere. Much of it is hand-made, so minor variations may occur in the same design. At fairs, you will be able to see our stock of one-off and antique items collected around the world.

Visits can be arranged for wholesale customers wishing to spend more than £100. Please call us in advance to discuss an appointment.

We have a mailing list, so please add your name and email address to the Mailing List Box on the bottom left of each page. This will allow us to inform you of new stock and up-and-coming fairs. However, to protect your privacy, we won’t contact you more than 5 or 6 times a year and so not share or sell our mailing list.
