Tips: This very delicate coiled wire is to protect the beading thread of a necklace or bracelet where it rubs on the jump rings. Carefully cut 2 small sections of French Wire about 5mm long. Thread them onto the beading thread at each end of your necklace. Wrap carefully round the jump ring and knot or crimp as usual. To make it easier to thread your beading cord through the French wire, gently push a cocktail stick down the newly cut end to tidy up loose wires. French Wire can also be used decoratively on necklaces between beads.

For added security, gently 'crimp' or squeeze the end of the clasp onto the cord with small jewellery pliers which have no serrations.
